One of the absolute highlights of my raft trip down the Colorado River was the hike through North Canyon to this cul de sac where a rivulet was making its way down the canyon walls into the still pond. While the lower sandstone walls were in shadow, the thread of water was reflecting the vivid blue sky and the sunlit golden upper walls.  It looked as if turquoise was embedded in the rock.  Exquisitely magical.
